After Other Companies Fall Short, Premier Pools of Central Florida Steps in and Stands Tall

A few months ago, a homeowner in The Villages had what appeared to be a major eyesore in her backyard. But this eyesore had a history behind it, part of which began before she took ownership of the golf-course-adjacent property.

The pool shell – with weeds growing in and around it – was part of the deal. It had been installed incorrectly.

After purchasing the property with her husband, said Premier Pools of Central Florida, Inc. (PPCF) Designer Gabriel Willis, the homeowner realized the company that had installed the original pool – which had multiple issues – had gone out of business. So, another pool company was called in. That company also did not make things right for this client.

“She said it was just heartbreaking to look at every day,” said Willis, with money and time spent to fix the pool, but not being able to make any headway in getting it done.

A fresh start

Thankfully, after meeting with Willis, the clients quickly realized that PPCF is a far different company from the previous ones. He and the team at PPCF made sure they had a clear vision of everything the homeowners expected. They tore out the pool and built a brand new one the right way, creating a sunning oasis that was everything they wanted and more.

The homeowner’s confidence in their choice of PPCF as a reputable company was further bolstered by Designer Gabriel Willis’ faith in the organization. He sings the company’s praises from two different perspectives.

Willis, with his background in construction, worked for many years with the owners, Dan and Tracie Theune while employed with a commercial real estate company. This relationship spanned more than 20 years. However, for the past four years Willis has excelled as a part of the PPCF design team. “I can tell you that this is bar none the best pool company around,” in the way they treat their customers, the skill of their team members, and the quality of materials used.

Which brings us back to the project at hand. “We completely redesigned the pool, tearing out the old one and building a new one where friends and family can come visit and relax – something the homeowner can be proud of,” Willis said. Starting from scratch gave the homeowner the PPCF warranty.

“It does add extra time to dig up the existing shell, but only two to three days,” said Willis. “It went really quick.” After trying to get matters resolved for so long, PPCF dug up the old shell in August of 2023 and had water in the pool by January, he said. The lengthiest part of the project was the tile work, with PPCF tile craftsmen making sure all was perfect, and the snowbird-homeowners choosing a gorgeous glass tile.

Winning features include a sunshelf for tanning, and 360-spa, or spillway spa, that overflows on all sides, in the deep end. “Waterbowls flanking the watersheer add a luxury look to this 464-square-foot pool. This is about 30% bigger than our average project, so a good-sized pool.”

In the new design, PPCF worked with the homeowner to thoughtfully play up the square and modern lines of the pool with a curve to the stairs at the sunshelf.

The golf course’s panoramic panels make a beautiful backdrop to a finally-completed dream project. Thanks to PPCF, it’s impossible now to tell that this retreat had such a rocky start.
