In 1980, Sheldon Slone, a hard-working furniture salesman with two young sons, started a business that was the realization of what he believed a home furnishings store should be: a store that is run by family and offers personalized service with well-made, family-friendly products at affordable prices.
Shortly after purchasing an existing furniture store, S.J. Slone’s Furniture Gallery was up and running. Slone’s sons, Louis and Michael, grew up working in the store and learned to share their father’s work ethic and purpose. In 1991 they took over the family business and still run it to this day, in the original building and location, renaming it Slone Brothers Furniture. Throughout these 38 years, renovations and expansions have taken place but their mission has stayed the same: Offer family-friendly furniture with lots of options for personalization at affordable prices to the families in their community.
